Heaps of powder snow, the glistening of the sun, the longing to carve those
perfect endless bends in stunning scenery leaving your trail on
untracked pristine snow
Off-piste backcountry skiing is a great way of expressing your creativity far from the crowds on the groomed runs of the winter sports resorts.
Especially in Chamonix, the mountains are really imposing, massive and powerfull.
Skiing in Chamonix is an unique experience with some of the greatest vertical drops in the world...That is why a lot of skiers and freeriders from everywhere on earth get together every winters in this famous place...
Equipment has evolved over the last few years and the practice of off-piste skiing has considerably developed allowing for a wider choice of superb itineraries.
‘Off-piste’ does mean that you are in an environment that is by definition unmarked and non-secured so to minimize any potential risks (avalanches, crevasses, rocky ledges...), and to find better snow, we adapt according to the daily snow conditions and take you to the resort that best suits your motivation on the day of your tour.
For these tours, necessary safety equipment will be supplied: arva, spade, probe, harness...
Ideas for different tours:
Around Chamonix, you can find a lot of incredible off piste skiing routes.
The Vallée Blanche : An amazing moment into the heart of the glaciers : Discover here!
The Grands Montets : one the famous off piste skiing resort in the Valley. Beautiful descents on the glaciers but as well in the forest. Some of these routes are just fabulous, like the " Pas de Chèvre ", an unforgetable route from the top to Chamonix, by the bottom of the Drus ( Route for good skiers ).
The Aiguilles Rouges : The Brevent and the Flegère are two resorts in front of the Mont Blanc range. Beautiful view and sunny early in the morning.
Courmayeur : On the italian side of the Mont Blanc. Very nice descents there, in a different atmosphere. Hottest than Chamonix, this side often propose very good conditions and good weather when it's snowing in Chamonix! ( and of course, cafe, pizza and tiramitsu!)
Le Tour/Vallorcine : In the end of the Chamonix valley, this resort is really pretty and propose forest off piste skiing routes or biggest descent on Trient Switzerland. One of our favorite place!
